Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic

Duties and
Responsibilities:

Perform periodic preventative maintenance tasks such as but not limited to checking gages, instruments, mechanical conditions and changing oil, filters, belts and a variety of other replaceable parts.

Perform a variety of mechanical repairs including breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and parts replacement of plant process equipment (pumps, motors, valves, etc) to support production activities.

Perform emergency repairs as required to keep equipment running.

Make routine adjustments to put the equipment back in operating condition.

Assemble equipment including but not limited to pipe fitting, welding, etc

Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs of instrumentation, PLC and other electrical equipment

Assist Electrical Maintenance as necessary

Maintain necessary logs, check sheets and other documentation with timely and accurate information on all equipment.

Communicate any information maintenance personnel should be aware of regarding any problems, unfinished repairs, special situations, etc.

Notify the shift supervisor of any dangerous, unsatisfactory or inoperative conditions affecting the equipment the shift might be using.

Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.

Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards.

Perform other related duties as required or directed.

Technical Requirements:

Work with ordinary hand and power tools and lubrication equipment.

Basic math skills able to calculate gross, tare, and net weights

Computer skills must be able to learn and use email system (Outlook), Internet training, MS Excel, MS Word, and SAP.

years of related experience in manufacturing industry preferred

Trade skills:
piping, welding, pneumatics, hydraulics and process controls is preferred,

Knowledge of motor control circuits, AC and DC low voltage

Experience with PLC troubleshooting, instrumentation and other electrical troubleshooting and basic repairs

Be able to recognize electrical hazards to ensure energized work is only done by a person who has an electrical license

Knowledge and understanding of industrial plant safety policy and procedures,

Trade or other certifications preferred but not required

Detail oriented and the ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through

Self-starter; takes initiative and good time management skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)

Be able to complete physically demanding work that may require lifting, kneeling and twisting.

Be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment for all areas of the plant; including respirator, chemical suits/aprons, goggles/safety glasses, hard hats, steel toe shoes and hearing protection,

Flexibility with schedule and work duties; must be willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-ins
