Description
The Industrial & Instrumentation team has an opening for an experienced Systems & Applications Engineer with responsibility for Security and Building/Infrastructure Automation applications with particular emphasis on embedded imaging needs and requirements.
Responsibilities
Provide system level support to strategic-&-key customers and 3rd parties in development of embedded computer vision products using Analog Devices technologies and products.
o Support system architectural design in areas such as lens and imager, algorithm, imager-processor interface, host interface, memory subsystem, operating system, middleware, and power management.
o Support evaluation of Analog Devices system solution demo.
Develop system solution using ADIs proprietary new imaging technology and product.
Provide system level support in video surveillance and machine vision applications that use ADIs CCD AFE products.
Develops working relationships with key technical contacts and influencers at targeted customer accounts in assigned applications spaces.
Works closely with Segment Marketing and all interested PTG groups to determine the best ADI solutions to succeed in the assigned application areas with particular emphasis on the EPST, RFG and PCV teams.
Works with the I&I Segment Marketing group to develop requirement for new product developments.
Works with other members of the I&I Security and Building/Infrastructure Automation team to define new system level solutions such as demo systems, development platforms, software modules, tools, and works with other members of the I&I team to develop such solutions.
Works with other members of the I&I Security and Building/Infrastructure Automation team to develop a deep understanding of future system needs, technology trends, competition threats.
Create and conduct training to FAE and DFAE.
Travel to customer locations in the U.S. and Europe.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required. Ph.D. is preferred.
5+ years experience in a Product Applications, System Engineering or Systems Design role working on industrial or consumer or medical embedded processor systems.
5+ years experience in imaging applications.
5+ years experience of customer support and track record of successful design-in.
Experience in computer vision algorithm development is a huge plus.
Experience with Analog Devices processors and tools is a plus.
Experience with embedded software system in any of the following areas is a plus.
o Device drivers and system services
o Memory subsystem
o Middleware such as USB stack
RTOS
Experience with imaging sensor is a plus.
Experience with CCD AFE is a plus.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and clearly articulate the requirements of the customer.
For positions requiring access to technical data, ADI may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
