Summary:
As a Public Relations Coordinator, you will play a vital role in assisting the PR Director in executing an effective public awareness campaign and education programs for New England excavators.
You will contribute to enhancing the organization's visibility and image, maintaining strong media relations, and ensuring the successful communication of key messages to internal staff, the public, excavators, regulators, and stakeholders.
You'll be responsible for crafting compelling messaging, building strong media relationships, and driving awareness of our mission.
This role requires a safety-minded individual with excellent communication skills, a flexible mindset, and a willingness to travel.
Key
Responsibilities:
Media Relations Create and update media lists for press releases and outreach.
Pitch story ideas and send press releases to secure coverage and raise awareness of the Dig Safe program.
Respond to media inquiries as necessary.
Content Development Assist in drafting written materials, internal and external communications, PowerPoint presentations.
Proofread and edit written content for accuracy and clarity.
Write clear, concise, and persuasive copy that effectively communicates our safety messages to various audiences.
Create social media posts and promotional materials.
Develop self-paced educational tracks in a Learning Management system for excavators, employees, and other stakeholders to learn about the requirements of the Dig Safe law.
Help with website maintenance.
Events Represent Dig Safe at industry events, meetings, conferences, and community gatherings.
Support the planning and execution of meetings and seminars.
Coordinate event logistics; create invitations and materials for events.
Deliver safety presentations at Dig Safe and on-site at companies throughout 5-state region to educate stakeholders about safe digging practices and the importance of utility damage prevention Social Media Management Assist in maintaining and updating the organization's social media accounts.
Help with the monitoring of social media messages, track online conversations and ratings, engage with followers.
Membership Engagement Provide support and assistance to our network of stakeholders, including utility companies, contractors, municipalities, and lawmakers.
Research and Analysis Stay informed about current events and news related to the industry.
Conduct research on the effectiveness of our advertising campaign.
Prepare reports and analysis on PR campaigns and media coverage.
Administrative Support Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, booking hotel accommodations, sending emails to stakeholders.
Assist with budget tracking and expense reporting.
Performs various other duties and projects that may be required by the demands of the business, or by the President or the Manager, these other duties and/or projects may, or may not, be currently defined Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe applications.
Basic understanding of media relations and PR best practices.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of social media platforms.
Flexible schedule to allow for travel.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
