Performing a variety of Quality Inspection functions including tests, gauging, and instrument inspections of complex materials, tools, goods in process, and finished goods with minimal supervision.
JOB DUTIES:
oPerforms audits, tests, and inspections of complex materials, goods in process, or finished goods assuring quality first by determining compliance to drawings, procedures, and specifications.
(receiving through final system assembly)oPerforms Incoming Material Receiving Inspection, 1st article inspections on Textron and Supplier materials, COT's item inspection, Mechanical Inspection, Precision Dimensional Inspection, CMM Inspection, Vision System Inspection, & CofC InspectionoShelf life managementoPerforms In-process inspection of all types of production hardware from various programsoMaterials:
Mechanical, Electrical, DimensionaloMachine Shop 1st piece inspectionsoPerforms Final Inspection/Acceptance of all production hardware.
oPerforms Packaging/identifying completed hardware.
oActs as company liaison with various industrial suppliers and customer representatives.
oDevelops and/or uses a variety of complex test and inspection set-ups utilizing mechanical and/or electrical test measurement equipment.
oAssists in development of and interprets a variety of semi-complex inspection plans, tests and procedures.
oRecommends changes to procedures, processes, and drawings to improve efficiency and/or quality of the product.
oRequires interpretation of inspection plans, tests and procedures.
oApplies established inspection procedures and uses simple inspection/testing tools and instruments of a go/no go nature.
oDocuments and retains required quality control test/inspection records and results.
oInvestigates defective material with manufacturing and/or suppliers and determines error identification and implements positive corrective action.
oIdentifies and documents nonconforming material in accordance with applicable procedures.
oAssists and trains others in assuring the proper test, measurement, and procedural operations.
oEnsure adherences to policies and procedures accordingly.
oChecks the technical work of other inspectors.
oPerforms material review functions.
oAcquire IPC-610/STD 001 and IPC-620 Certifications as applicableoSupporting team members with administrative activitiesoSupport customer expedite requestsoAssist with the external vendor equipment return processingoProvide direct service support for internal customersoObtain basic knowledge of CMM machine capabilitiesoPrior knowledge of critical key features on drawingsoTraining on CMM programming would be preferredPHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Visual requirements is the minimum standard for those whose work deals largely with visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, computer terminal, and using measuring devices.
Individuals may be excluded from positions where duties or tasks pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
oThis position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
oThis position is subject to extreme cold.
oThis position is subject to extreme heat.
oThis position is subject to noise.
oThis position is subject to a variety of physical and atmospheric conditions:
oThis position may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment if the employee performs welding, chemistry lab work, materials lab work, engine testing or if the employee is exposed to microwaves, x-rays, electrical current and continual magnification or any other duties that would require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
oThis position may require the use of a respirator if the employee performs spray application of surface coatings and paint or other duties that would require the use of a respirator.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
oBroad knowledge of manufacturing and quality assurance processes and/or procedures.
oBroad knowledge of military and commercial quality specifications.
oCMM Operation knowledgeoKnowledge of Statistical Process Control.
oBroad knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical inspection.
oKnowledge of workmanship standards.
oKnowledge of packaging and preservation requirements.
oKnowledge of computers and computer applications.
oAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
oAbility to operate semi-complex electrical and mechanical inspection equipment.
oAbility to develop and/or use semi-complex inspection set-ups.
oAbility to read, analyze and interpret detailed specifications, drawings, procedures, and schematics.
oAbility to apply logical thinking in identifying error cause and to seek effective solutions.
oAbility to interpret complex inspection plans, tests and procedures.
oBasic algebraic skills.
oAble to independently determine approaches to solutions with only general directionoAbility to work with outside suppliers as well as internal customersoExperience with the Microsoft suite of products; Word, Excell, Explorer, etc.

Typically requires five years of experience with a High School diploma, or equivalent education or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties.
This position does require the ability to obtain a Security Clearance at time of hire.
