Job Description:
This position will lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT) within the Space & Airborne Systems Segment of L3Harris for our Wilmington, MA location.
This team designs, builds, integrates, and tests space-based imaging payloads.
These payloads contain algorithms, controls, complex analog, power, digital, and FPGA electronics.
Responsibilities include managing a cross functional technical design team with full technical, cost, & budget responsibility.
As the leader of a Software Engineering product team this position will report to Program leadership.
Products include software, electronics, cables, & test equipment in the Space & Airborne Systems Segment of L3Harris.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced IPTL, technical lead, or project manager that has cradle to grave design experience and a proven history of cross functional project management.

Essential Functions:
Takes direct role at program status meetings, reviews, anomaly investigations & other issues.
Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors.
Facilitate Scrum events (Daily scrum, Sprint Planning, Review/Demo and Retrospective) as requested or needed.
Work alongside Product Owners to refine and groom the product backlog, forecast sprint iterations, and resolve team/stakeholder conflicts.
Anticipate and addresses potential or actual impediments to team delivery.
Support Agile transformation process including PI planning, templates, artifacts, training materials, and lessons learned.
Develop and lead aspects of the design and implementation of embedded software to support space-based imaging payloads.
Engage in and improve the development cycle of software, from design through deployment and operations.
Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
Collaborate with and lead other engineers to plan and organize the development of our solutions.
Participate in all aspects of software development, including design, testing, and mission integration.
Embrace and follow the L3Harris software development process (metrics development, collection, presentation, etc.
)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of software related experience.
Experience in Risk Management and Cost Account Management.
Experience with executing throughout the full System lifecycle including requirements flow down and allocation, design, development, test, and sell-off.
Experience in space-based payload I&T and ground test equipment development.
Hands-on experience, in integrating and testing embedded processing systems to the software/hardware level.
Experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance Excellent organization skills Effective communication skills in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to generate presentations and brief internal and external customers.
Experience implementing best Agile practices and standards, and mentoring/teaching junior practitioners.
Direct, hands-on experience with writing user stories, grooming product backlogs, and coordinating and prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Developed and deployed embedded software that has been used in real-world space-based imaging application and projects.
Experience with DevOps tools including Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence.
Experience in Real-time Operating Systems:
VxWorks RTOS, Wind River, Linux, etc.
Experience in embedded software development using C.
Knowledge of space domain and applications.
Experience in estimating large software programs for current and new business opportunities.
Fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks.
Background in math and physics.
