Position Description:
The Configuration Analyst position is responsible for ownership of configuration management tools and processes, store, track and manage configuration items. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with ARAS software in a federally-regulated manufacturing environment (FAA, DOD, FDA, DOT) and possess technical aptitude as well as a self-starting, process and problem-solving style. This individual will join a global, multi-site business unit that designs and manufactures highly engineered sensors and fluid management systems for aerospace applications. This position reports directly to the SFMS Manager of Engineering Services. Support the product development lifecycle by utilizing and updating the Reference Database to ensure strict process control for engineering changes adhering to formal written procedures. Support design process activities, including:
RFQ, initial concept, design development, design release, continuous engineering, lessons learned, corrective actions. Review, process, and monitor all engineering changes utilizing and work with internal team members at all sites to collaborate and drive results. Manage customer and internal revision levels of product and tooling CAD data Proper storing and documentation of all design documents, and ensure colleagues have access to documentation. Design release and customer PLM/PDM release of 3D and 2D CAD Facilitate and expedite the processing of engineering changes per customer or internal direction. Participate in design improvements with lessons learned or corrective actions. Participate in product design review meetings and proactively create potential process improvement paths to streamline and upgrade current storage and tracking mechanisms. Utilize full understanding of configuration management to assist in the use of configuration management tools to store, track and manage configuration items. Adhere to and drive the Configuration Control Board review process, including the identification and establishment of configuration baselines, preparation and submission of engineering change documentation, and entering data into Configuration Management databases. Define, implement, and control hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures in a fast-paced environment. Generate weekly, month, and annual reports and metrics scorecards as well as utilize experience and data to drive process improvements for the business. Support customer audits and provide internal documentation to internal groups, such as quality or manufacturing engineering. Collaborate with customer service team members to assist with customer deviations, configuration sheets, parts lists, as well as prepare drawing packages for customers. Support transition activities from Wilmington/Irvine to Reynosa, Mexico, as well as set up new BOMs in Oracle as needed. Position Requirements:
Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred or relevant experience ARAS experience preferred 7-10
years' experience in a federally-regulated manufacturing environment required (FAA preferred, but will consider FDA, DOD, DOT) 7
years working with ASME standards required Experience with Configuration Management of modern electronics systems and electro-mechanical equipment and/or components, including experience with Configuration Control Board review processes Experience with ERP system required, Oracle is a strong plus Knowledge and understanding of aerospace components is a plus Organized and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches Highly collaborative individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills and team player attitude Well-developed problem-solving skills and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization Looking for a hands-on individual with a desire to seek out opportunities for process improvement and drive improvements to implementation Ability to work well under pressure, multi task and meet deadlines while remaining flexible on changing work priorities Computer skills to include Word, Excel in addition to Configuration Management software
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
